Turatto, Padova, communicates his discovery of a new supernova during observations on May 10.0 UT at La Silla with the European Southern Observatory 3.6-m telescope of SN 1993N in UGC 5695 (R.A. = 10h27m.1, Decl. = +13o16', equinox 1950.0). The new object is located 1".8 east and 9".8 north of the galaxy's nucleus and 8".5 east of SN 1993N. The magnitude is approximately R=17.5. IAUC 5987 SUPERNOVA 1994O IN MARKARIAN 268 C. Pollas, Observatoire de la Cote d'Azur, reports his discovery of a supernova of mag 18-19 in Markarian 268 on films taken May 6.93 and 7.88 UT. SN 1994O is located at R.A. = 13h38m53s.85, Decl. = +30o37'51".5 (equinox 1950.0), which is superimposed on the dark central part of the galaxy and is 2".5 west and 2".5 north of the galaxy's center. Nothing is visible at this location on films taken Apr. 8.99 and earlier. A nearby star of V about 15 has end figures 57s.01, 36'33".8. IAUC 5988 DO DRACONIS Tonny Vanmunster, Landen, Belgium reports an outburst of this UG-type variable and this has been confirmed by Paul Van Cauteren, Aartselaar, Belgium: 1994 May 13.932UT, 14.1 (Vanmunster) 13.993UT, 14.2 (Van Cauteren) Guy M Hurst --- 00065 --- Date: 17 May 1994 12:48:03-BST
