The cost per person will be held at the same level as the 1990 meeting: Admission for the day (to also include coffee [am] and tea [pm]) #5.00. (However a discounted price of #3.50 is again offered providing a booking and remittance are received by October 15th). Three course cooked luncheon (optional) #6.00. (Anne Hurst has again kindly agreed to provide refreshments and lunch which is very much appreciated). As usual there will be an exhibition at the meeting of photographs, drawings and equipment. Those attending will be asked to give brief details of the exhibits they will bring with the booking but this year we extend a special invitation to any reader abroad who is unable to attend. Please submit photographs or drawings to the Editor together with suitable caption material to arrive by Oct 31 at the latest. Such items will be eligible for entry in respect of the special meeting award. SUPERNOVA 1991ar IN IC 49 R. H. McNaught, Anglo-Australian Observatory, reports his discovery of a supernova, designated 1991ar, of mag about 17 on a J plate taken by K. S. Russell with the U.K. Schmidt Telescope on Sept.2.64 UT. The supernova is situated in a knot on the edge of a spiral arm of IC 49 and has coordinates R.A. = 0h41m22s.58, Decl.= +1 34'48".6 (equinox 1950.0, uncertainty 0".4 in each coordinate), or 8".5 east and 12".5 north of the nucleus. No star appears in this position on a U.K. Schmidt J plate taken on 1984 Nov. 14. A nearby star of mag about 16, situated on the edge of the galaxy, has end figures 23s.93, 26".9.
