The orbit is prograde with period 1.1223 days and mean radial distance 117,500km. It is one magnitude fainter than Nereid. IAUC 4806 1989 NA E.Helin, Palomar, reports discovery of an asteroid with direct motion on July 2 at mag 16. MV LYRAE P.Schmeer (MAG70250) reports that MV Lyr, a nova-like variable, has brightened to 14.0 on July 6.017UT (0.20-m SCT). It has been near magnitude 16 since 1987 June.
