The object was of magnitude 15.3 and located 20"W and 18"S of the nucleus. On Jan 6, it was not recorded to a limiting magnitude of 18. IAUC 4721 LA PALMA PROJECT Phil Charles in La Palma asks that we continue monitoring the four stars in the programme until the end of February. Therefore please e-mail weekly results on Fridays and additionally report any outbursts immediately. P.Schmeer reports RX And bright: Jan 24.833UT, 10.6:; 25.921UT, 11.2. DX AND This outburst reported on E248 has been independently detected by G.Dyck, MA, USA. On Jan 21.97, he estimated it at mag 13.1. P.Schmeer provides a further estimate: Jan. 25.798UT, 11.7. COMET WILSON (1987VII) S.Larson and D.Levy, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, report that CCD images with the 1.5-m Catalina reflector on Jan 11.326UT show secondary nuclear condensation 30.5" in PA125.5deg, some two mags fainter than the primary.
