The position is: RA 22h 02.7m DEC +45 52'(1950) The object appears on both frames and shows the same trail characteristics as stars but unusually there is a slight positional displacement between the two exposures estimated to be 1.5 arcmins. G.M.Hurst reports a search made within an error radius of 15' of the position on 1989 Jan 12 (19.10UT) revealed no new object to magnitude 13.0v. Could anyone with photos of the area taken in early Jan check for images. NSV 01098 A FAX of the original German reference has arrived from RAS and the chart by Morgenroth confirms that NSV 01098 is the object found by M.Collins. The object has been identified by the Editor on the exposure of 1988 Nov 2.96UT near magnitude 11.3. Thus it appears to have an amplitude of at least two magnitudes.
