2001 September 30
Nick James' photos of a very bright aurora seen from Kiruna, Sweden.
2000 April 6/7
A massive auroral storm was visible throughout
the UK and northern Europe on the night of 2000 April 6/7. Activity started at
around 21h UT and built up to a tremendous show just after 23h UT.
These pictures were taken from Rothwell, near Leeds by Ray Emery on 2000 April
6/7. He used Kodak Royal Gold 1000 ISO with a 28mm f2.8 lens.
There are more spectacular photos on
Tom McEwan's
site.
Further pictures of the event were secured by Steve Foulkes, Herefordshire.
